Our Human Factors Design process merged the requirements of ergonomics with technology and human interaction.
7.8 Monitor Spectrum Consoles™ are a continuation of Nova-Link Limited’s 42-year history of supplying ergonomic workstations, for Tech intensive applications.

About
It all started in 1981, when Antonius “Tony” Vander Park was approached by his residential landlord, Charlie Hill, who requested help with design and procurement of a metal chassis for a new, special assembly call director which Bell Canada intended for the financial trading operations of major Canadian banks….
…Opportunity knocked and Tony did not say no. The initial chassis project was progressively developed into a flexible modular system, called the Expandable Call Director with capacity for up to 300 direct lines, hence the ECD 300. Along the way Tony had started an independent company Nova-Link Limited (NovaLink), which Maria joined as the accountant and an equal partner. Upon Bell Canada’s request, NovaLink signed over the patent rights for the ECD300 in exchange for manufacturing rights.
Working initially from their 2 bedroom apartment, both Tony and Maria (the West Side Story) worked vigorously, looking after 2 children, stretching pennies, building relationships with sub-manufacturers and ensuring on time deliveries.
Tony then designed and illustrated a portfolio of trading desk concepts, each with recessed CRTs and an inset EDC 300, enabling traders to see over top, out to the trading floor. The Bell Canada sales force carried these concepts, and showed them when proposing the ECD 300.
NovaLink was now in the contract furniture business; Tony realized that customer satisfaction was a necessity…and coined an enduring phrase…Customer Satisfaction Before Profit™
From those humble beginnings, the husband-and-wife team grew a manufacturing company recognized worldwide for responsive, cutting edge desking solutions.
In 1987 NovaLink developed an integrated desking system that utilized a robust beam-spine, which supported cantilevered consoles and bench workstations. The spine system was granted international patents and enjoyed wide acceptance. Customers recommended our premium product to other eventual customers. The financial and commodity trading community was connected like no other, and we quickly developed a global business, supported by top flight commercial furniture dealers who were eager to be involved.. Our Team and family became experienced global travellers, building enduring relationships, and supporting our unwavering commitment to Customer Satisfaction. We were profitable and doubled in size every 3-years for the first 25-years.
In 2007 the financial market experienced a melt down. This was effectively a perfect storm that disrupted business relationships, and a dampened the demand for the premium NovaLink spine system. Fortunately Maria was very conservative with money (no debt), and we were able to retain most of our experienced TEAM. Needless to say the subsequent Great Recession triggered a succession of product developments, which in 2012 produced Series 7.5 Console Construction™. This multi zone design with motorized dynamics was subsequently granted international patents and we registered the trademark NovaLink parametric contract furniture®. The 7.5 Console Constructions™ were utilized for installations, with lots of monitors and CPUs.
In 2022, NovaLink made another leap forward (in pursuit of the ‘Parametric Contract Furniture’ concept) with the introduction of the 7.8 Monitor Spectrum Consoles™. The principle design criteria called for simultaneous visibility of console displays and the greater TEAM workspace, and this was achieved with a new monitor rack featuring electrically activated, bi-directional movements. There are new international Patents Pending.
NovaLink parametric contract furniture® is made to order, with CNC technology from generic materials. Modular construction enables real sustainability, for future repairs, upgrades and expansions.
All NovaLink products, including the 5.5 Spine System and the 7.5 Console Constructions, and all other custom variations, are and will remain available.
All NovaLink products are offered on standard time lines, at standard prices and with standard warranties.
